“ Best catfish in the Bay Area hands down! Theyre an older African American couple that drives down from Reno three days out of the week to open up the doors. Only complaint is the hours arent consistent but understandably so. I drove from Vallejo one day on the weekend just for their fish that I had been craving. It is a MUST TRY ”
“ The fish was absolutely DELICIOUS! The oysters, fish and shrimp were excellent! The owners are so very kind courteous. It was my husband I first visit and they gave us two beverages. We certainly look forward to ordering more wonderful seafood dishes. ”
“ Wow so very good! Got special for 5 of 2 fish and frys. Came with tarter sauce and hot spice red sauce. If you like hot food the hot sauce is great. Im not fond of it, but was very tasty. The fried fish was outstanding. I only visit Oakland every one in a while. But will definitely go again ”
“ I got the 333 combo with three fried oysters, three fried shrimp, and three pieces of fried catfish. Everything was cooked PERFECTLY! Moist and tender meat with a crispy crust. Absolutely classic. The combo was a lot of food! It came with Louisiana style hot sauce, tartar sauce, and ketchup, as well as plenty of fries. Service was cheerful and very friendly. There isnt any seating, so its really takeout only. The one minor criticism I have is that the fries were pretty mediocre, but they really arent the main attraction here anyway. ”
“ Nice family owned business. The fish here is fried to perfection. Its not greasy, has flavor, and taste delicious. It usually takes about 1015 min for ypur order to be ready. I eat here quite a lot and the food is consistent each time. This is definitely one of Oaklands hidden gems ”
“ We went across the street to Joshuas and ordered the fried oysters! Now that what Im talking bout!!! ”
“ Perfectly crispy catfish with a special spice blend that keeps me coming back for more. So far I keep getting the catfish cause by the time I get there theyre always sold out of everything else and as long as they dont run out of that catfish Ill keep coming back. ”
“ This place is awesome!!! Its small but just right for someone who loves seafood. For several years Ive eating seafood cooked personally by Mr. Joshua himself. This place is an historical landmark and gives Oakland the recognition of having good taste! ”
